Please be advised the Boneyard Run: Turkey Trot is POSTPONED until Saturday, 12 December 2020.

This postponement allows for separate start times in order to limit the total number of personnel on the course. This enables the 355 Wing to ensure both mission readiness and resiliency.

On 12 December 2020, the starting times for racing will be:
0700- all 10k runners [staggered start]
0800- 5k runners whose last names start with A-G [staggered]
0900- 5k runners whose last names start with H-P [staggered]
1000- 5k runners whose last names start with Q-Z [staggered]

Turkey Trot the Boneyard

The 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) "Boneyard" will be hosting a Turkey Trot on Saturday, December 12 to Active Duty, base personnel, and their families with base access.

This unique event allows participants to complete a 10k run or a 5k run/walk through the world's largest aircraft storage and preservation facility and gives runners an opportunity to see the Boneyard's vast national treasures!

For the Turkey Trot, a new route will be taken from last year's Boneyard Run.

This event is FREE and **exclusive to those with BASE ACCESS ONLY.**
It is not open to the general public.
You must bring your race bib to enter the event.

Registration Details

Registration for the race has closed. There will be no late or day-of registration.

Registration is limited to those with base access ONLY. Because this Turkey Trot event is free, a simplified version of online registration will be available from now until Monday, October 26 at 11:59 PM. There will be a 5k and a 10k race option to choose from.

A free t-shirt will be given to everybody that registers! We will make every effort to give you one in the size you specified, but this is not a guarantee. All shirts will be unisex adult sizes ranging from Small to Extra Large. If you wish to be eligible to receive a free t-shirt, you must sign up individually.

Packet pick-up dates will be November 16 & 17 from 10AM-2PM at The Landing Community Center on base. Race packets will include Race Day details, your runner's bib, and your free t-shirt.

The Boneyard Run: Turkey Trot is classified as a "fun run", so official times will not be recorded and medals will not be awarded.

Packet Pick-Up

**All registered participants must bring their race bib on the day of the event. No bib, no entry.**

Packet pick-up dates will be Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17 from 10AM-2PM at The Landing Community Center on base (5555 Ironwood St.) Your packet must be picked up in order to attend the race.

Packets will include race-day details, parking information, your free t-shirt(s), and your race day bibs. Every participant will receive a bib and must bring it with them to gain entry into the Boneyard.

If you included children in your registration, they will not receive a t-shirt but will receive racing bibs.

There will be no day-of packet pick-up, so if you cannot get your packet during the scheduled times, please contact us to make alternate arrangements. The last day for alternate packet pick-up will be Thursday, November 19.

The Starting Line procedures will include a staggered start to allow small groups of runners to begin the race in waves. Please wait patiently in line and obey all signs/instructions until it is your turn to launch.

The 309th AMARG provides depot-level maintenance, aircraft regeneration, storage and preservation, aircraft parts reclamation and disposal in support of the U.S. Department of Defense, allied warfighters and other government agencies. The density of aircraft essentially makes this the largest air fleet in the world, other than the United States Air Force. The 2,600-acre site has nearly 4,000 aircraft and is typically only open to employees and the occasional bus tour.

Why the Boneyard?

The Boneyard Run is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Runners will have the rare opportunity to tread between the aircraft that make up the largest air power reservoir in the world.

Parking & AMARG Access

This event is limited to Active Duty, base personnel, and their families with base access. Base access must be coordinated and obtained prior to race day. Please remember to take your DoD ID with you into the AMARG area.

Parking

Parking for registrants will be available in specified lots off Wilmot and Picacho, on the south and east sides of the Med Group Clinic.

Gate openings will be confirmed prior to the event.

Event Access

After parking in the allotted areas, registrants will then be able to walk through the AMARG gate to the event area. No shuttles will be provided. Be sure to bring your Race Bib and DoD ID card with you.

Important Info


  • **Race bibs from packet pick-up are your ticket into the event. No bib, no entry.**

  • Do not touch or hang from any of the aircraft.

  • Running attire encouraged. If wearing costumes, no masks or facial coverings can be worn while entering the gates.

  • Face masks are required at all times other than when running the actual race.

  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

  • Photography is allowed.

  • All registrants are subject to search from Security Forces.

  • Strollers are permitted but recommended only for the 5k.

  • Please bring cash and cards for potential purchases.

  • Bring water, snacks, towels, sunscreen, hats, chairs, and any other personal items you may need to stay hydrated, comfortable, and cool!
