Spouse Orientation

Heart Link Spouse Orientation is an Air Force program designed to strengthen military families and enhance mission readiness by helping to orient new and incoming Air Force spouses to active duty military life at their new base.

Recognizing that spouses are the heart of the Air Force, the overall program goal is to ensure that spouses are aware of their importance to the Air Force, and feel as though they are a part of the Air Force "team." Therefore, the Military & Family Readiness Center takes great care in providing an incredible amount of resources during the spouse orientation to ensure attendees have all the information necessary to feel at home at Davis-Monthan AFB.

See What It's Like

A typical day at Heart Link starts with an introduction and ice breaker activity, followed by welcoming comments from Leadership. Your day will then progress into the Team Panel presentations, a "Welcome to Tucson" segment, and an Info Fair. At the end of the morning, you'll be treated to a demonstration from the hosting squadron and learn all about how they support the Air Force mission.

You'll also be served refreshments and a boxed lunch-to-go, and be treated to lots of prize-winning opportunities!

Meet The Experts

During each orientation, representatives from a number of base-wide units and local organizations give short presentations that contain vital information to life at your new base. This ranges from learning about base services and programs, benefits and entitlements available to you, spouse employment opportunities, and breaking down the military language barrier, as well as familiarizing yourself with the climate, culture, and innumerable amenities that the city of Tucson has to offer.
