Spouse Employment Resources

There are a number of programs available exclusively to military spouses with the goal of ensuring you obtain and maintain the career of your dreams. From networking groups and agencies to tuition assistance and licensing reimbursement/recognition, these resources are here to help you excel.

Spouse Education & Career Opportunities

The Department of Defense has established a comprehensive, holistic, spouse-centered program called the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program. Program resources include the Military OneSource Spouse Career Center, where SECO career coaches provide free, comprehensive coaching services to all eligible military spouses. Whether it's resume review or a video mock interview, SECO career coaches are here to help spouses meet their career and education goals.

My Career Advancement Account Scholarship

The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses. The scholarship assists military spouses in pursuing licenses, certifications, or associates degrees necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field.

Military Spouse Employment Partnership

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is a career partnership that connects military spouses with hundreds of partner employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote, and retain military spouses.

License Recognition for Military Spouses

If you are a military spouse with an occupational license, this is for you! Many states now have laws that require or encourage licensing boards to grant military spouses expedited applications, temporary licenses, or license recognition. To see the laws governing your specific state, check out the link below.

Career One Stop License Finder

The CareerOneStop License Finder provides state-specific information about occupational licenses required, such as license names, descriptions of occupations, and issuing agency contact information.

Reimbursement for Re-Licensing or Re-certification

While some states authorize reciprocity for certain types of occupational licenses, not all states do. This requires the spouse to update a license or certification according to the new state's requirements. In an effort to help with this, a new government program has been created to ease some of the financial burden-- up to $1,000 for each qualifying PCS or PCA-- and helps spouses continue their careers.

Arizona@Work

Arizona@Work is the statewide workforce development network that helps employers of all sizes and types recruit, develop, and retain the best employees for their needs. For job seekers throughout the state, we provide services and resources to pursue employment opportunities.
