Appointments:
All animals are seen by appointment only. You may make an appointment for your pet during our normal business hours:
Monday-Thursday 8:00am -12:00pm & 1:00pm-4:00pm.
Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm

Due to high demand we strongly recommend calling 2 weeks in advanced to schedule your next appointment. The private animal care clinic may be able to provide appointments for some general sick calls; however this is based on appointment availability and our capabilities. Unfortunately, we do not have the facility or staff to provide hospitalization, intensive veterinary care, or emergency services. All chronic illness must be seen by an in town veterinarian.

  • Surgeries & Emergences - The clinic does not currently provide any surgeries or emergency services. However the clinic can provide you with a list of low cost Spay and Neuter clinics. For all emergencies please contact a veterinary hospital in town for immediate attention.

  • Registration- All Dogs and Cats Must be registered with the Private animal care clinic if you live on Base. They are also required to be current on Rabies and Annual Vaccines.

  • Prohibited Animals- Any animals that are used or planned to be used for commercial breeding purposes are not allowed service at the Clinic, IAW AR 40-905(AFI 48-131), any exotic animals, mammals or reptiles, as well as domestic livestock are prohibited on Davis-Monthan Air force Base. Base housing regulations may limit specific breeds allowed in housing.  

  •  Overseas Travel- Any overseas travel will require a health certificate, as well additional requirement for pets based on country. Many overseas locations have specific requirements that need to be started more than 6 months out. We strongly recommend that you contact the private animal care clinic for assistance with your pets travel as soon as possible.

  •   Kenneling- If you plan on kenneling or staying at D-M pet friendly lodging, they must be current on all vaccines. Dogs will also require a bordetella vaccine given in the last six months.

Pet Registration mandatory on D-M:  
The Veterinary Treatment Facility reminds all base housing residents that you must register your pet with the VTF.  Recently there have been several incidents of non-compliance by base residents. This is a mandatory requirement in accordance with base housing rules. Please stop by the VTF to register your pet.

Private Animal Care

The Base Veterinary Treatment Facility is available to help you maintain your dog or cats health and keep their shots up to date.  [Services provided include vaccinations, zoonotic disease treatment, heartworm testing, leukemia testing, ear cleaning, health exams, microchip identification implants, health certificates and a variety of products to enhance your pet's quality of life.] Services are open to anyone with a valid military identification card, which entitles them to governmental medical care.  Reservists may use facility only while on active duty orders.  All pets are seen by appointment only.
